Site Engineer – Civil Engineering

Location: Kilmarnock
Contract: Temporary, ASAP start through to March
Rate: £35 per hour
Payment: CIS or Limited Company

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7am–7pm; Friday, 7am–5pm. Winter hours may change to 7am–6pm.

We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join a civil engineering project in Kilmarnock, supporting the delivery of a full civils package on a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) development.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Engineer with a strong civil engineering background who is available to start immediately and is confident working on a range of groundworks and concrete activities.

The Role

You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of civil engineering works, ensuring activities are completed safely, accurately and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Setting out and surveying works in line with project drawings and specifications.

• Supporting the delivery of drainage installations and associated groundworks.

• Overseeing precast concrete installations and in-situ concrete plinths.

• Setting out and checking holding-down bolts to ensure accurate positioning.

• Monitoring earthworks and ensuring work is completed to specification.

• Coordinating with site management, subcontractors and the wider project team.

• Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress.

• Ensuring health and safety procedures and quality standards are followed throughout the works.
  
  

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects.

• Strong setting-out skills and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.

• Experience with drainage, earthworks and concrete works.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and site delivery.

• Relevant engineering qualifications and a valid CSCS card.
